AI-led Hackathon Event
The Brief
Create and execute an inspiring and forward-thinking initiative supported by a promotional campaign that will help employees learn how to use generative AI effectively to benefit Bupa, its customers and the wider healthcare industry.
Our Approach
The nature of this initiative was to show the power of teamwork - with each other and with AI. So rather than create a toolkit or guide on AI... We went big.
Hackathon big.
With Bupa we designed a 48-hour AI innovation hackathon. Anyone with any level of experience with AI could enter. Participants were put into small groups of six (from different departments, regions and roles) and set a challenge. The solution had to include AI. To help teams feel confident ahead of the hackathon, they were provided training and upskilling sessions.
Post-event recognition and continued testing and prototyping of ideas from the hackathon successfully engaged both office and frontline employees, with 100% of participants saying they felt more confident about how to use AI effectively going forward.
